Hello and welcome! I am Barbara J Bolls-Guillory, a printmaker, painter, and maker based in San Bruno, California. I am an Art Guild of Pacifica member and I regularly exhibit my artwork at the Sanchez Art Center in Pacifica, California.
I create representational and surrealist artwork that express my cherished memories and daydreams, connections with nature and the divine, and wonder and play.

My Practices.

Whether I am printmaking, painting, drawing or crafting, I travel to many places in my inner home and dialog with different aspects of my Self to bring back reflections and wisdom from the natural and sacred worlds. Through my visual memoir, I hope to empower others to witness, heal, and celebrate themselves as they are—to mirror back their own Light.

Printmaking

I discovered the love for Printmaking when I took a class out of curiosity at City College of San Francisco in the Spring of 2020. The printmaking process fully engages me because it is filled with opportunities and challenges every step of the way. I mainly create relief linoleum prints and intaglio prints from collagraphs and drypoint etching in a limited palette to highlight my art’s graphic quality.

Painting

Learning to paint in acrylics opened up my inner world. I was primarily self-taught, but online classes in Painting during the pandemic introduced me to a rich world of colors, strokes, and layers, The meditative act of painting has allowed me to access and process deeper parts of myself. Painting has become a vehicle of transformation in my creative journey.

Paper Crafting

I have a deep love for crafting and making small objects to cherish. With a hobby in painting miniature models and a background in architectural model-building, I enjoy the handcrafting process. From cutting and gluing to painting and assembling elements, I take pride in producing objects with fine detail and care for others to bring home or to gift to their loved ones.
